Church of Panagia Gorgoepikoos

Church of Panagia Gorgoepikoos

The Church of Panagia Gorgoepikoos was built in the 15th century as a single-spaced church before its radical reconstruction, at the end of the 18th century –the beginning of the 19th century that converted it into a three-aisled basilica with a wooden roof. The original temple serves as diakonikon to the newer temple. There are also a lot of murals of Virgin Mary in the origina, preserved section of the temple dated back to the 15th century.
