The National Ski Resort of Seli is located at an altitude of 1,900 metres on Mount Vermio and is the first organised ski resort in Greece. It has been operating since 1934, when the first Panhellenic skiing competitions were held, and for many years it was the country’s only ski resort. It is therefore no exaggeration to say that Seli is where it all began for Greek skiing.
Located just 24 km from Veria and 95 km from Thessaloniki, the National Ski Resort of Seli offers 17 downhill ski runs with a total length of 14 km and varying levels of difficulty to accommodate skiers of different abilities. There are also two cross-country skiing trails (Langlauf), with a combined length of 8 km, as well as several interesting routes for off-piste skiing and snowboarding.
The ski runs are recognised by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) (Homologation Nos. 953-954-988-957/1975, 5448/178/1999 and 5449/179/1999) and are suitable for competitive skiing.
