Church of Saint Paraskevi (Makariotisa)

Church of Saint Paraskevi (Makariotisa)

The temple of Saint Paraskevi was built in the 14th century and in its original form was a single spaced wooden roofed temple. The important interventions that were made in different periods between the 15th and 18th century had dramatically changed its form and size, transforming it at first into a single spaced aisled Basilica temple.
In the monument valuable wall paintings are retained from the 14th century through the 18th century which is the age of its construction. Saint Paraskevi’s icons impress for their originality and vivid colours while some of them are distinguished for their expressive style of the figures they depict.
